Bio

Luella Marcele LeMaster Luella Marcele LeMaster (neé Mattox), 84, formerly of Nampa, Idaho, died peacefully on Sunday August 20, 2017 with family members at her side after an extended illness, at Mountain Meadows Senior Living Campus in Leavenworth, WA. A memorial service will be held at her Idaho church-home, Harvest Life Church in Nampa, on Sept 16, 2017 at 1 pm. Interment will follow at Kohlerlawn Cemetery. Luella was born Sept 18, 1932 to Bill and Daisy Mattox in Wilder, Idaho, shortly after the family migrated from Nebraska to the Sunny Slope area of Treasure Valley with Luella's older sisters Velma, Eva and Aldene. After Luella's birth, the family grew further with the addition of Ardella, Viola and Linda, 7 daughters in all. Luella graduated from Nampa High School in 1950. She served in the US Women's Army Corps as an obstetric operating room technician in occupied Tokyo, Japan, during the Korean Conflict 1950-1953. While there, she became acquainted with missionaries serving military personnel and surrendered her life to Christ. After completing her tour of duty, she returned to the US and attended Life Bible College in Los Angeles, CA. There, she met and wed Joseph Woodford LeMaster, to whom she was married for 43 years until Joe's passing in 1999. She completed Bible School and received her license to minister from the International Church of the Foursquare Gospel in 1957. Together with her husband, she pastored multiple Foursquare churches in California, including that in Paramount, Pico Rivera, Healdsburg and finally a church plant in Duarte. The couple relocated from southern California to Nampa in 1967 with their children Joseph (Joey) and Susan. Luella began work at the Idaho Potato Grower's factory that year, and worked there until her retirement in 1997, at which time it was owned by Nestlé. She remained active in ministry, pastoring Jubilee Christian Fellowship in Nampa (eventually in the basement of her home) until 2008, when she began to care for her sister Ardella on a full-time basis. Since 2013, Luella lived alternately with each of her children until she moved to Mountain Meadows in September 2016. She is survived by her sister Viola (Boise, ID), her son Joseph (Kansas City, KS), her daughter Susan (also of Leavenworth), 8 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
