Darrell J. Giles 1938 - 2017 Early Life: Darrell was born January 17, 1938, in Heber City, Utah, to John Golden Giles and Mary Louisa Shepherd Giles. He grew up in Heber and graduated from Wasatch High School where he participated in football and wrestling. He also enjoyed playing softball and had a wicked fast pitch. Life's Work | Service | Interests: On June 27, 1958, Darrell married Myrna Loy Simons in Provo, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Manti Utah Temple. He loved the mountains of Utah, enjoying camping and fishing with family and friends. Darrell worked for the Rio Grande Railroad and retired after many years of service. He loved to play board games and cards; he was ruthless. He also enjoyed dancing, music and serving others. Darrell J. Giles, of Orem, Utah, passed away August 24, 2017, in Blanding, Utah, surrounded by his family. He was 79. Survived By: His nine children: Tim (Lesa) Giles, Tooele; Loyann (Will) Christensen, Ephraim; Terry King, Pleasant Grove; John Giles, Payson; Mary (Jody) Dollar, Eagle Mountain; Stephanie (Kory) Horlacher, Royse City, TX; Sandra Giles, Pleasant Grove; Patti Mounga, Pleasant Grove; Bobbie Jo Young, Pleasant Grove; 41 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren; sister, Annette Young; and brother, Dale (Marva) Giles.
