Bio

Charles Golden Giles 1931-2015 Our beloved husband, dad, and grandpa, Charles Golden Giles, passed away peacefully on September 8, 2015 in Heber City, Utah. He was born to John Golden Giles and Mary Louisa Shepherd on December 9, 1931 in Provo, Utah. Charles served his country in the Air Force from 1950-1954. He later started working for Mountain States Bindery in Salt Lake City. He worked there for thirty years before finally retiring. Charles truly loved life. He was an avid fisherman. He loved to play chess and dominoes, and could always be counted on for a good prank or joke. He filled our lives with happiness and love. He will be missed, but never forgotten. Charles is survived by his loving wife Lynette Prisbrey Giles; son Eddie Golden Giles (Sherry); daughter Debra Giles Leighton; siblings Annette, Dale, and Darrell; six grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his son Michael Charles Giles; daughter Taryn Whittaker; sisters Elaine and Elise; and his parents. Upon his request there will be no funeral service. A viewing will be held on Friday, September 11, from 11am – 1pm at Olpin-Hoopes Funeral Home, 288 North Main Street, Heber City, Utah. Graveside services will immediately follow at the Heber City Cemetery. The family would like to give a special thanks to hospice workers Lisa and Brittaney, Rocky Mountain Care Center, and all our loving friends and family.
