Services for Bobby C. Atkinson, 88, of Lufkin, will be held Tuesday, August 22, 2017 in the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Whitehouse Cemetery. Mr. Atkinson was born August 31, 1928 in Childress, TX and passed away August 19, 2017 in Navasota, TX. He was the son of the late Anna (Turntine) and Raymond Atkinson. Mr. Atkinson was a loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was a self-employed salesman and was a member of New Hope Church in Navasota. He served his country in the United States Air Force during WWII. Survivors include son, Bobby Atkinson, Jr. of Amarillo; daughter, Carolyn Seahorn and husband Dee of Amarillo, TX; daughter, Ann Seahorn of Childress, TX; daughter, Susie Evans and husband, Gary of Wells, TX; daughter, Linda Kellogg and husband, Mike of Navasota, TX; daughter, Brenda Sanders and husband, Michael of Alto, TX; nine grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Sally Massey Atkinson; daughter, Barbara Jackson; brother, Harvey Atkinson; and son-in-law, Donnie Seahorn.
