Dallas Morning News 25 Jan 1955 Final Rites Set Tuesday For Amos Leroy Paschall Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Anderson-Clayton Funeral Chapel, Mesquite, for Amos Leroy Paschall, 85, retired groceryman. He died Sunday in a private hospital in Pleasant Grove after an illness of several years. He had been in the hospital three days. Paschall was born in Paris, Tenn., came to Texas when he was three. His father, the late Ed P. Paschall, was a pioneer farmer in the Long Creek community. He was married to the former Miss Leona L. Davis of Mesquite on Dec. 25, 1894. They celebrated their sixtieth wedding anniversary last Christmas Day. She survives him. He owned and operated the Paschall Grocery Store in Mesquite until his retirement in 1936, and had lived in Dallas the last 10 years at 7502 Wentwood. Paschall was a member of the Lovers Lane Methodist Church. The Rev. Tom Shipp, pastor of Lovers Lane church, will officiate and burial will be in the Long Creek Cemetery. Survivors other than his wife include two daughters, Mrs. Hazel Moody and Nelliegreye Sherrill, both of Dallas; two sisters, Mrs. W. H. Caldwell and Mrs. Maggie Ellis, and three brothers, Mr. A. E. Paschall, E. V. Paschall and R. E. Paschall, all of Mesquite. Nephews will be pallbearers.
