Bio

Margaret “Margie” Mary Griffin, 85, went to be with her Lord and Savior on August 7, 2017. Memorial Service: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, August 16, at Wade Family Funeral Home, 4140 W. Pioneer Parkway, Arlington. Margie was born to Alphonse and Della Grimm of West, Texas on December 8, 1931. She married Doyle Black in 1954. Doyle, being a colonel in the Air Force, afforded the couple to live abroad for many years. While stationed in Nevada, Doyle was killed in a plane crash in 1972 and shortly after Margie relocated to Arlington. In 1978, Margie married James Griffin and they were married until 2009 when Jim died suddenly. During their marriage they lived in Alabama, Colorado and California, then after Jim’s retirement, returned to Arlington. During her career, Margie worked as an office manager in the medical and dental fields. She loved a good game of bridge, golf, and the company of others. Always having a joke to tell and a smile on her face, she never knew a stranger. Margie was preceded in death by her husband, Doyle Black; and husband, James Bernard Griffin.
