Bio

When Ransom Ethern House was born on July 15, 1849, in Norfolk, Ontario, Canada, his father, Conrad, was 29 and his mother, Esther Crandall, was 26. He was married four times and had six sons and two daughters. He died on December 21, 1917, in Hastings, Nebraska, at the age of 68, and was buried in Ainsworth, Nebraska. He married Sarah Workings on Aug 28, 1869 and had 4 children with her; Frank (1872), Charles Douglas (1875), Hiram (1877), Carrie (1879) and John Almond (1881). He married his second wife, Hannah Bower Lawyer, on July 24, 1887 and had 3 children with her; Lela (1888), Erwin (1890) and Joseph (1893). She was previously married and brought 5 children with her; Idella, Edward, Bertha, Frank and Herbert. His third wife, Caty, was married in 1899 and fourth wife, Laura, in 1908.
