Bio
Son of George & Magdalena House of Ontario, Canada. Conrad married Esther Crandall on March 26, 1840 in Bayham Twp, Elgin County, Ontario, Canada. They had 6 children: Louisa Maria (1841-1915) Ransom Ethern (1849-1917) Nancy (1852-1852) Hiram W. (1858-1922) Arabella 1860-1863) John Anson (1864-1926) The 1852 Canadian Census shows Conrad living in Houghton Twp., Ontario. In 1858 his son Hiram was born in Ensley, Newaygo, Michigan, so by then the family had immigrated to the US. The 1860 US Census shows Conrad, 39, Esther, 35, Ransom, 11, and Hiram, 2, living in Ensley, Michigan. The 1870 US Census shows Conrad, 50, Esther, 47, Hiram, 13, and Anson,5, living in Person, Montcalm, Michigan. In 1878, for the sum of $14,Conrad purchased a homestead in Nebraska. The 1880 US Census shows Conrad, 60, Esther, 58, Hiram, 23, and Anson, 15, living in Adams County, Nebraska. Conrad was 65 when he died in 1886.
