Salome Deiber Greder's Obituary. Funeral services for Mrs Peter Greder were held Monday afternoon at 2:00 at teh Jessen-Wisda Funeral Home conducted by Rev Walter Hartmann of the Lutheran church. Pallbearers were grandsons Carl Hitz, Leslie and Roger Greder, Vernon Greder, Robert Mitchell and Albert Hitz. Burial was in the Ainsworth Cemetery. Salome Deiber was born to George and Katherine Deiber in Osthein, Alsace, Germany on December 19, 1877 and passed away on November 25, 1954 at the home of her son Dave, northwest of Ainsworth at the age of 76 years, 11 months and 6 days. When 13 years of age, she came with her parents to America and lived in Crawford county Iowa. She was baptized in infancy and later was a member of the Lutheran Church in Washington Township, Iowa. On February 25, 1895 she was united in marriage to Peter Sr Greder. To this union were born 13 children; 7 boys and 6 girls. They are: John F Greder (Denison, IA), Arthur A Greder (Lincoln, NE), Peter G Greder (Buck Grove, IA), Walter J Greder (Paxton, IL), David R Greder (Johnstown, NE), Kenneth E Greder (Ainsworth, NE), Paul E Greder (Valentine, NE), Helen (Ben Mitchell; Dow City, IA), Edna (Gus Hitz; Lincoln, NE), Anna (Fred Pokorny, Ainsworth, NE), Mildred (Henry Leitz, Sac City, IA), Selma (Art Kackmeister, Ainsworth, NE) and Clara M who preceded her mother in death on November 26, 1938. Mrs Greder lived with her family in Crawford County, Iowa until 1922 when they came to Nebraska locating in Keya Paha County. In 1934 the family moved to a farm 7 miles northwest of Ainsworth where they made their home until 1943 when they moved to Ainsworth, which was her home until her passing. She was preceded in death by her husband Peter who passed away July 4, 1953, 2 sisters and 3 brothers. She was blessed with 41 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. She was a kind and loving mother and friend to all who met her, and was always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need.
