Bio

A loving wife and mother, Pat pursued a life of service to God, community and family. She was a member of The Houston Junior Forum, Chapelwood United Methodist Church, Industry United Methodist Church and The United Methodist Women. Pat worked with others at Chapelwood to implement Spring Thing, a United Methodist Women mission funding event, Faith Alive, a revival event involving youth and adults in small group discussions on the revival theme and was one of the first team of Bethel Bible Study leaders at Chapelwood. She helped create a pre-marriage counseling class and the new member/new Methodist orientation. Pat earned her Master of Social Work degree at the University of Houston and became a family counselor in private practice and at Chapelwood. She also completed the Spiritual Director training offered by The Cenacle Retreat Center of Houston and incorporated what she learned there in all her endeavors. After retirement, Pat and her husband Hubert, moved to Industry, Texas and became members of Industry United Methodist Church. Pat loved to sing. She was a long-time member of the Chapelwood Chancel Choir and then the Industry Sanctuary Choir. She enjoyed the adult Sunday school class at Industry United Methodist Church, the much beloved Bertha Circle and the prayer shawl ministry. Pat was preceded in death by her parents Chester and Ruth Bullington, her husband of 63 years, Hubert Gentry, Jr., and her daughter Beth Marie Gentry. She is survived by her sister Beth Schwab, her daughter Julia, her son Chet and daughter-in-law Lill and their children, Jordan and Colton, by her son Michael and daughter-in-law Cathy and their children, John and Joseph, by her daughter Patsy and a host of nieces and nephews, cousins and beloved friends.
