Bio
After graduation from Memorial High School in Houston, Beth earned a BA from Southwestern University in Georgetown, Texas and a BSN from the University of Texas. Beth worked as a nurse at Hermann Hospital’s Cardiac ICU in Houston, Texas. A lifelong member of Chapelwood United Methodist Church, Beth led MYF, sang in the choir, and helped established the Mercy Street worship service. Inspired by her love for animals, Beth volunteered as a docent for the Houston Zoo. After retiring from nursing and moving to Industry, Texas, Beth gave her time caring for others through her work at the Austin County West End Boys and Girls Club and the Christ Lutheran Day School in Brenham, Texas. Beth became an active member of Industry United Methodist Church where she worked as a secretary, sang in the choir, and helped lead the youth group. Beth had a strong faith in the Lord, and we have faith we will see her again. Beth is survived by her father, Hubert Gentry, Jr. and mother, Pat Gentry of Industry, siblings Julia Gentry of Katy, Chet Gentry and his wife Lill of Austin, Michael Gentry and his wife Cathy of Houston, Patsy Gentry of Industry, and niece Jordan Gentry of Austin, nephews Colton Gentry of Austin, John Gentry of Houston, and Joseph Gentry of Houston.
