Edwina Paulette (Coan) Green, 74, of Penelope, passed away in West on Thursday, July 13, 2017. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, July 16 at Wade Funeral Chapel in Hubbard with Rev. Grady Cashion officiating. Interment will follow in Penelope Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Saturday, July 15 at the funeral home. Edwina was born June 20, 1943 in Waco to Clarence Woodrow Coan and Louise Pauline (Shupp) Coan. She was raised in Waco and was a graduate of Waco High School. Over the years, Edwina worked at several businesses in Waco including General Tire and Vaughn Abstract Company but her most rewarding employment was the 20 years she worked for the Penelope ISD in several different capacities including being a teacher’s aide as well as driving a school bus. She loved her family dearly, especially her grandchildren and was a member of First Baptist Church of Blooming Grove. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of over 50 years, James Green on December 13, 2016 and an infant son, James Michael Green. Survivors include three children, James Vernon Green, Jr. and wife, Amanda of Penelope, Stacy Allen of Penelope and Steven Matthew Green and wife, Tabitha of Waco; sister, Twala Hughes and husband, Rick “Slim” of Chilton; sister-in-law, Linda Joyce Kroll and husband, Jim of Hallsburg; six grandchildren, Shelby Lynn Kemp, Nathan Curtis Green, Megan Elizabeth Green, Jacob Andrew Jordan, Addison McKenzie Green and Brooklynn Nicole Green and numerous other extended family members and friends. Pallbearers will be Jeff Moore, Chad Barkley, Keith Reid, Tim Westmoreland, Nathan Green and Jacob Jordan. Obituary published online 14 Jul 2017 by Wade Funeral Home, Hubbard, Texas.
