Bio
JOE DEAN BROD passed away on July 9, 2017 in Alvin, Texas (age of 77) after a long, brave battle with many medical issues. Joe was born on December 11, 1939, in Houston, Texas, to Irvin and Audrey Brod. Joe graduated from Angleton High School in 1959. He attended Texas A & I University and Wharton County Junior College. Joe met Elizabeth Pavlovsky at Wharton County Junior College and the two were married in 1960 and soon began a family. In 1962 Joe went to work at the Monsanto Chemical plant (Chocolate Bayou) where he worked for over 33 years. He began as a plant operator, but spent a good portion of his career as a maintenance planner. Joe was a very devoted family man. He was always quick to offer his help to anyone who needed it. Joe is predeceased by his mother Audrey and his father Irvin. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth of 56 years, daughter Susan Gibson and husband Tim Gibson of Alvin, TX and son Mike Brod of Lakewood, Colorado; sister, Ruth Begnaud of Alvin, TX; brother Jim Brod and wife Carmen of El Paso, TX; brother Jerry Brod of Alvin, TX; granddaughter, Hannah Brod of Lakewood CO; step-granddaughter, Lindsay Anderson and husband Jayson of Lubbock, Texas; and step great grandson, Ryan Anderson of Lubbock, Texas and many nieces and nephews. Visitation for Joe will be held at Scott Funeral Home 1421 E. Highway 6, Alvin, Texas 77511, at on Wednesday, July 12, 2017. A Catholic Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Joe on Thursday, July 13, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church with burial to follow at Resurrection Cemetery, 1310 N.
