Bio

Carolyn Ann Kolar Reyes departed this world early on the 4th of July. A courageous fighter until the end she joins her mother, Rosalee Kolar, brothers, Charles and James Kolar in heaven. Born in West, Texas, following the footsteps of her father, Carolyn joined the Air Force upon her graduation from West High School in 1975. Stationed at Randolph AFB until 1979, she subsequently began a career with the US Postal Service that spanned 28 years, commencing upon her retirement in 2008. Uniting in matrimony, Carolyn became Mrs. Joe E. Reyes on July 7, 2007. A life-long, self-educated scholar, Carolyn enjoyed a simple country life of tending to her animals, devouring many many books from the library and absorbing the wonder of nature. She is survived by her sisters, Mary Jane Sustala, Lillian Macy, and brothers, Raymond and Harry and Tommy Kolar and 20 nieces and nephews. A gathering in her memory will be held this Saturday July 8th at VFW 1533 at 107 Elmhurst Ave. In lieu of flowers, gifts and cards in accordance with Carolyn's beliefs it is asked that donations to the Food Bank, the animal shelter and the library be made instead.
