Bio
Lillian R. Tvrdik, 96, of Comstock died Wednesday, June 28, 2017 at the Burwell Community Memorial Health Center. Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday July 6, 2017, at the United Methodist Church, 208 N 2nd St. in Sargent with Pastor Stefanie Hayes officiating. Govier Brothers Mortuary of Broken Bow is in charge of arrangements. Lillian was born March 24, 1921, on the family farm west of Comstock to Anton and Antonia Proskocil. She graduated from Sargent High School in 1939. Lillian married Ben Tvrdik on December 28, 1942, and they farmed west of Comstock until his death on February 9 1960. Following Ben's death, Lillian worked at Braggs Store in Comstock and at other grocery stores in the area until her retirement. Lillian is survived by her son, Ronald Tvrdik of Kearney, three grandchildren; Todd Tvrdik of Kearney, Rebecca Anderson of Hallam and Kathryne Welty of Kearney, three great-grandchildren, Braden Addelynn Welty and Kamden Welty.
