Bio

Robert J. “Bob” Kasberg, age 81, of Temple passed away on Friday, June 30th, 2017 at his home in Temple. He was born on March 30, 1936 in Westphalia, TX the son of Leo and Lucy Kasberg. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Monday, July 3, 2017 at 10:00 AM at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Temple. A visitation will take place on Sunday, July 2, 2017 from 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM with a rosary being recited at 6:00 PM at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home 3110 Airport Rd. Temple, TX 76504. Bob was a local barber for 40 plus years and was the owner operator of Kasberg’s Barber Shop and was also President of Kasberg Development for 30 plus years. He served his country in the United States Army, was a devout Catholic, and was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #3444 where he was a 4th Degree Knight. Bob believed strongly in a Catholic education and was instrumental in the establishment of Holy Trinity High School in Temple and helped children by providing financial support for those at St. Mary’s Catholic School and Holy Trinity High School. Bob is survived by his wife Janell of Temple, his children; Debbie Hering and husband James of Temple, Rick Kasberg and wife Jackie of Temple, Cheryl Preece and husband Shane of Troy, and Bobby Kasberg and wife Sandra of Temple, grandchildren; Lauren, Paul, and Melissa Hering, Landon and Cameron Kasberg, Kendall and Sadie Preece, and Mitchell and Emily Kasberg, brothers; Gerald and James Kasberg, and sisters Margie Stock, Nelda Poncik, and LaFon Eary. He was preceded in death by his first wife Dolores whom passed away in 2002, a grandson Adam Kasberg, brothers; Nelson Kasberg and Harold Ray Kasberg, and sisters; Leonette Entrop, Janice Wellen, Carol Marie Kasberg, and Lucy Hodges.
