Davis J. "Dave" Devey 1927 - 2017 VETERAN Early Life: Dave was born December 2, 1927, to Earl Marsh and Velma Grace Strong Devey. Dave grew up working on the family farm in Alpine, Utah, then lived within two blocks of his childhood home. He loved Alpine. Life's Work | Service | Interests: Dave continued to farm throughout his life, while also working at Geneva Steel for 33 years, and running a heavy equipment contracting business with his brother, Don. He was also drafted into the United States Army, serving in Germany during the Korean War. A dedicated and lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and married his sweetheart, Neicell Loy Kolstad, in the Salt Lake Temple in 1950. Dave made sure to teach his family about hard work and dedication to all that they would do. While he enjoyed working hard, he played even harder. He loved hunting, fishing, traveling with his sweetheart of 52 years, Neicell, his siblings, and his children. Davis J. "Dave" Devey, of Alpine, Utah, passed away Monday morning, June 26, 2017, peacefully with his children by his side. He was 89. Survived By: His children: Heather (Terry) Jones, Kerry (Leslie) Devey, Darren (Teresa, deceased) Devey; his brother, Wally Devey; and sister, Marilyn Turner; 15 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren. Preceded In Death By: His wife, Neicell; daughter, Loren Neicell Devey; son, Kevin Otto Devey; his parents, Earl Marsh Devey and Velma Strong Devey; his brothers: Ranold Devey, Don Devey, and Carlos Devey; his sister, Afton Burgess; and grandson, Cody Mitchell Jones.
