Bio

Don Kasik, 92, of Schuyler, died Thursday, July 18, 2014, in Omaha. Donald J. Kasik was born March 22, 1922, in Leigh, Nebraska to James and Stephanie(Houk) Kasik. He attended school in Leigh and worked on the farm with his father. He joined the United States Army during WWII and served in Germany. Donald was a lifelong Colfax County resident and a proud farmer. He also worked for Malena Dairy Farms in Leigh. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Leigh, and the VFW and Legion Post of Leigh .Donald is survived by three sisters;Ludmilla Bart of Van Nuys, California, Josephine Dieter of Ralston and Stephanie Jedlicka of Battle Creek, many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Marcella Strehle.
