Bio

Paul E. Plummer, age 67, passed away peacefully at home on May 19, 2017. He was born in Council Bluffs on Jan. 1, 1950, to the late Evelyn and Wayne Plummer. Paul graduated from TJ in 1968 and attended Creighton. In 1990, he married Patty Payne. After working for the USPS for 31 years, he retired in 2011. He was a Methodist. A loving husband, brother, uncle and friend, Paul was known for his quiet, gentle ways, trivia expertise, and dry wit. Besides his family, he loved cooking, travelling, gardening, music, theater, history, and his beloved poodles, Chip and Dale. He was also an avid all-sports fan! Survivors include his wife, Patty; Chip and Dale; sisters, Joan Reilly of Omaha and Jean Mikkelson (Fred Ericksen) of Murray, NE; loving nieces and nephews; scores of supportive friends. A reception to celebrate Paul’s life and his love of the culinary arts will be held on Sunday, June 4th, from 3pm to 6pm at the Walnut Hill Cemetery Reception Center, 1350 E. Pierce. Everyone is invited to come, visit with the family, share memories, and eat Paul’s favorite “snacks.” Feel free to wear sports attire.
