Mildred married Francis Lanik on October 7, 1950 at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church in Weston, Nebraska. They are the parents of Bradley & Ellen. Mildred L. Lanik, 87, of Davey, NE, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, May 10, 2017 at her home in rural Davey, NE. She was born January 1, 1930 in Weston, NE to Stanley and Marie (Cerny) Cihal. Mildred graduated from Malmo High School. On October 7, 1950, Mildred married Francis Lanik at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church in Weston, NE. Through the years, she worked for the telephone company, Hinky Dinky, Davey Post Office, and numerous other odd jobs. Mildred was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Davey, VFW #4502 Auxiliary, and American Legion #244 Auxiliary. She enjoyed baking, walking, yard work and gardening. She was an avid reader that loved dancing with her husband. Mildred loved the farm life, her many animals, and she especially loved her family. She is survived by daughter, Ellen (Terry) Catlin of Davey; grandchildren: Nic (Jamie) Lanik, Amanda Neville, Stephanie (Eric) Holka, Jeffrey (Erica) Holka and Charles Holka; great-grandchildren: Hannah Neville, Bailey Neville, Ian Lanik, Riley Neville, Jaileiana Walker, Evan Meyer, Gavyn Holka, Dax Lanik, Luci Holka, Everleigh Lanik and Raelynn Holka; brother, Joseph (Gladys) Cihal; sister-in-law, MaryLou Cihal; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Francis Lanik; son, Bradley Lanik; brothers: Stanley Cihal Jr. and Raymond Cihal.
