Bio

Paul A. Filer, age 91, died Thursday, Oct. 14, 1999. Vigil service was held 7 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 17, at Earthman Downtown Chapel. Funeral mass was 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 18 at Christ the King Church with the Rev. Stephen B. Reynolds as celebrant. Rite of Committal was at Holy Cross Mausoleum. Mr. Filer reitred as superintendent of Holy Cross Cemetery (Diocese of Galveston-Houston) after more than 45 years of service. He was a member of Christ the King Church and Knights of Columbus, Council 2917. He is preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Parker Filer and a son, Paul D. Filer, Jr. He is survived by one son, Jere R. Filer and his wife, Shelia of Tulsa, Oklahoma; six grandchildren, Vicki Filer Mensing, Paul D. (Trey) Filer, III, Cindy Filer Seligmann, Jere R.
