Services for Lois Mae (Hildebrand) Calvin, 80, of Caldwell are set for 10:00 a.m., Thursday, April 27, 2017 at the United Church of Christ in Lyons, with Rev. Darrin Holub officiating. Interment will follow at the church cemetery. Mrs. Calvin passed away April 23, 2017 at her home in Caldwell. Lois was born June 18, 1936 to John H. Hildebrand and Loraine (Neimann) Hildebrand in Caldwell, Texas. She attended Somerville schools and went to the Navasota Hospital for her LVN training. Lois was a nurse for over 25 years. She married Homer Calvin, Jr. on May 21, 1960 in Brenham, Texas. She was a lifelong resident of the Caldwell area. She enjoyed gardening, oil painting, ceramics, fishing, flowers, riding on her golf cart, Dairy Queen, Blue Bell, gossiping at the beauty shop, and family fish frys. Lois loved spending time with her family, Princess her cat, and Mikey her Pekingese. Lois was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Homer Ray Calvin, brother-in-laws, Charles Stolte and John Thim. She is survived by her sisters and brothers-in-law, Vernaline Stolte of Taylor, Texas, Wilma Jean Beerwinkle and Husband Kenneth of Welborn, Texas, Johnny Fay Thim of Conroe, Texas and Carolyn Johnson and husband Robert David of Lyons, Texas. Pallbearers will be Cody Mueggenborg, Richard Sagebiel, Keith Webb, Tyler Phillips, Austin Stolte, Hunter Stolte, and John Wagner. Acting as honorary pallbearers are David Johnson, Kenneth Beerwinkle, Jack Thibodeaux, Cody Hoot, Donald Stolte, David Stolte, Kenneth Allen Beerwinkle, Taylor Reynolds, amd Wesley Stolte. The family requests memorials be sent to the Evangelical United Church of Christ in Lyons.
