Deanna Marie HOUPY (1942 - 2017) Houpy, Deanna Marie (Vrla)Passed away peacefully Thursday, April 13th after a brief struggle with cancer.Deanna was born on April 19, 1942 in Dallas, the daughter of Milton and Albina Vrla.She graduated from W.W. Samuel High School in 1960 and from Arlington State College in 1962, and married Jerry J. Houpy, Jr., also of Dallas, on April 20, 1963.She was a member of St. Monica's Catholic Church, S.P.J.S.T. Lodge 130 and the Krouzek Circle of Women. She was active in both Boy and Girl Scouts of America, serving as both Den Mother and Troop Leader.Deanna was a dedicated and loving wife. She is survived by her children Michael Wayne and Gregory of Dallas, TX and Lisa-Marie of Port Saint Lucie, FL, her brother Milton Frank Vrla, Jr. and sister-in-law Brenda of Ennis, TX, sister-in-law Jeraldine Becan of Dallas, TX, grandsons Nathan Samuell and Jesse Reagan of Spring Hill, TN, grandsons Joshua and Shaun of Carrollton, TX, granddaughter Deanna Lynette of Mesquite, TX, and numerous nephews and nieces.Deanna is preceded in death by her parents Milton and Albina Vrla, Sr, sister Shirley (Vrla) Markus and beloved husband Jerry J. Houpy, Jr.Services will take place at Calvary Hill Funeral Home, 3235 Lombardy Lane, Dallas, TX 75220. Visitation will be held at 5:00pm, followed by rosary at 7:00pm on Thursday, April 20th. Funeral mass will be held at 10:00am on Friday, April 21, 2017.In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts honoring Deanna may be made to St. Monica's Catholic Church or a charity of your choice.
