Bio

Albina Marie Vrla, 97, passed away on Tuesday, June 2, 2015, in Dallas, Texas. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, June 4, 2015, with Rosary at 7 p.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary of Ennis. Mass of the Christian Burial will take place at 10 a.m., Friday, June 5, 2015, in the St. John Catholic Church of Ennis with Father John Dick. Interment will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Albina was born in Ennis, Texas, to the late John Wesley and Angelina Francis (Gurecky) Ozymy. She grew up in Ennis and graduated from Ennis High School in 1936. On September 28, 1940, she married Milton F. Vrla, Sr. and they made their home in Dallas before moving back to Ennis in 2000. She was a member of St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church of Ennis, SPJST #130, WFLA, KJZT, Dallas Czech Club, P.O.L.K. of America, and the Dallas Czech Singers. She enjoyed gardening and spending time with family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Milton F. Vrla, Sr.; a daughter, Shirley Vrla Markus; and a sister, Ella Mae Faraizl. Survivors include her son, Milton F. Vrla, Jr., and his wife, Brenda; daughter, Deanna M. Houpy; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sister, Mildred David; and many more family and friends.
