Judy was the daughter of Mary and August Skopek. She was born near Caldwell, Texas. She was a nurse, and worked in Longview, and Baytown, Texas. She married Leroy A. Hanson on December 31, 1945, shortly after his discharge from the U.S. Army after World War II.
