Dorothy Marie Schumacher (Darilek), 83, a longtime resident of Hereford, TX, was called home to her Lord, Wednesday, April 5, 2917, at her home. A Rosary is scheduled for 6:30 pm, Friday, April 7, 2017, in Hereford Heritage Funeral Home, 411 E 6th Street. A Mass of Christian Burial Service is scheduled for 10:00 am, Saturday, April 8, 2017, at St. Anthony's Catholic Church. Rev. Anthony "Tony" Neusch, Parish Priest, will officiate as Celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Anthony's Catholic Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Hereford Heritage Funeral Home. Dorothy was born February 6, 1934, in Baylor County, Texas, to John and Christina (Neighbauer) Darilek. She met and fell in love with the love of her life, Herman Schumacher. They married October 12, 1953, in Megargel, TX. They moved to Hereford in 1953 from Wichita Falls, TX. Dorothy's family and grandchildren were the love of her life. She also loved her Lord. Dorothy liked to cook, bake, quilt, play dominoes and various other games. She really enjoyed visiting and supporting the Senior Citizen Center. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Herman; 1 son, Lawrence; 1 sister, Marcella Lane; 4 brothers, Edwin, Wesley, John and Frank. Survivors left to cherish the memories are 3 daughters, Debra Schumacher of Amarillo, Carolyn Schumacher of Canyon, Diane Adams and husband Charley of Amarillo; 4 sons, Mike and wife Amy of Amarillo, Robert and wife Gina of Colleyville, TX, Donald and James of Lubbock; 1 sister, Annie Ward of Coahoma, TX; 7 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews; and, a host of many friends.
