The Daily Inter Lake October 31, 1949 page 2 PIONEER WOMAN TAKEN BY DEATH Mrs. Laura L. Bohannen, 82, of 336 Third Avenue west died at a local hospital Sunday afternoon after a short illness. Mrs. Bohannen came to Kalispell and the Flathead Valley in 1894 and had lived here continuously. She was born in Litchfield, Minn., Feb 1, 1867. She was married July 13, 1884 to Andrew Jackson Wells who died in 1910 in Kalispell. In June, 1912 she was married to Will I. Bohannen, who died in January, 1939. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Chas E. (Nellie) Denny of Kalispell and Mrs. E. H. Slemmer of Kalispell, one son, Deward Wells of Seattle, four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. The body is at the Johnson Funeral home where funeral services will be conducted at a time to be announced later. ****** The Daily Inter Lake Wednesday, November 2, 1949 page two LAST RITES HELD FOR PIONEER WOMAN Funeral services were held at the Johnson chapel yesterday afternoon at 2 o'clock for Mrs. Laura L. Bohannen, who died at a local hospital Sunday at the age of 82 years. She had been ill a short time prior to her death. Services were under the direction of the Rev. Mrs. R. C. Treloar. Two solos were sung by Don Shepard, accompanied by Miss Louise Hangar. Pallbearers were William Willey, Lon Lyford, Al Evenson, Fred Sempf, J. B. Cochran and Glen Putnam. Interment followed at the Conrad Memorial cemetery. Members of the Bigfork Rebekah Lodge gave the ritualistic rites of their order at the grave.
