From the Van Zandt News, Sunday, May 3, 1998, page 10A. Graveside services for Willie Vergia Ward, 83, of Van, were held April 30, at the Edom Cemetery, Edom, with Brother Mike Kirkpatrick officiaiting under the direction of the Hilliard Funeral home of Van. Mrs. Ward died April 28, 1998, in a Van Nursing Home. She was born April 12, 1915 in Brownsboro, and lived in the Edom-Ben Wheeler area all of her life. She was a homemaker and a member of the Assembly of God Church. Survivors include a sister, Laura Garner; and several nieces and nephews.
