From the Tyler Morning Telegraph December 4, 1999. Graveside services for Laura Garner, 87, Whiteright, formerly of Wood County, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Sunday at the Edom Cemetery in Edom with the Rev. Melvin Harrell officiating under direction of Lowe Funeral home, Quitman. Mrs. Garner died Dec. 2 in Sherman. She was born Sept 8, 1912, in Brownsboro and lived in Whitwright since 1993. She was a homemaker and preceded in death by her husband, Tom Garner and daughters Marie Copeland and Jean Davis. Survivors include daughters, Nell Meeder of Quinlan and Daisy Skinner of Denton; 16 grandchildren; and several great grandchildren and great great gandchildren. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
