Tyler, Texas Newspaper dated April 16, 1942. Holliman Funeral Held Here: Burial in Brownsboro. Funeral services for J. R. (Red) Holiman, 50, were scheduled for 3:30 pm today at the Burkes-Walker-Daniel Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Jay Richards officiating and burial in the Brownsboro Cemetery. Holiman died at 5:50 pm yesterday at his home, 201 Oakwood, after a brief illness. Born in Henderson County, Texas, he lived in Tyler 25 years. Surviving include three children in Dallas, and another son James Jr. in the Army. Two brothers, Wiley Holliman of Tyler and C.E. Holliman, who lives in South,Texas Some of the info in this obit is incorrect. Wiley Holliman (his Brother) filled out the death certificate and spelt James name with two L's. Wiley is the only one in the family that used two L's. James middle was "S" and not "R". His middle name was Standford. The R may have been in reference to his nickname "Red". C. E. Holliman (Clifford) also spelt his name with one L. Joe Lilly
