Obituary From The Ottumwa Courier , Tuesday, August 29, 2000, Page 4: Leo Bankson OTTUMWA – Leo James Bankson, 74, of the Elmwood Group Home in Ottumwa, died Aug. 28, 2000, at the Donnellson Health Care Cener in Donnellson. He was born Dec. 13, 1925, in Ottumwa to Eugene and Hazel Ramsey Bankson. A esident of Ottumwa most of his life, he was a worker for Tenco and the Retired Senior Volunteer Program. He attended church regularly. He is survived by three sisters, Ruth Smith of Kansas City, Mo., Juanita Leutzinger and Shirley Leonard of Ottumwa; and a brother, Larry Bankson of Angleton, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Reece Funeral Home, the Rev. George Edgerly of First Pentecostal Assembly of God officiating. Burial will be in Shaul Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Joe and Don Bankson, Jerry Hasley, Don Lawson, Frank Darnielle and Garnett Herrington. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. today with the family present from 7 to 8:30 p.m.
