Bio
If you knew Tom for just a day or for many years, you knew that he was a man full of surprises and adventures. You knew he loved his family and friends, working hard, solving problems and serving others, while always having fun. Born to Tom "Lee" and Vi Polk. He grew up with his two sisters, Terri and Jennifer. In their hometown of Waverly, NE, Tom developed a love of the outdoors. He graduated from Waverly High School and then achieved his Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, in 1986. He worked for Westinghouse Electric Corporation and ABB, before he and Deanna started their own business, Power Deliver Services Inc. in 1994. In 1979, Tom met Deanna through mutual friends and by 1981 they were married. In 36 years of marriage, the two raised three children and spent time with family across the country. Tom loved being outdoors, wild conservation, traveling, education and developing youth. He traveled to numerous countries in 5 of the 7 continents, often on hunting trips. As an Eagle Scout himself, he was a Cub Scout Master and Scout Master for Troop 407. He coached youth Baseball for several years. In 2000, he fulfilled his lifelong dream of owning his own piece of land and 2001 founded Bobcat Ridge (BCR), where family, friends and colleagues gather to hunt, hike and watch the sunset.
