Bio

James Weldon Lovil was born January 22, 1929 in Carthage, Texas. He was one of eight children born to Walter Cleveland and Clara Belle Underwood Lovil. Jim was raised in Panola County and graduated from Carthage High School in 1947. He married Janet Armstrong in 1949 and they celebrated 68 years of marriage. Mr. Lovil served in the United States Air Force and retired after 20 years of service. Jim worked several years for Bramblett's Auto Salvage and for Texas Utilities for 15 years before retiring. He was a member of the Still Waters Cowboy Church, loved his cows, and working on old cars. He is preceded in death by parents; daughter, Donna Lovil Walker; and siblings, Charles Lovil, Velma Lovil Duke, Juanita Lovil Hudson, Herman Lovil, E.R. (Sonny) Lovil and Gerald Lovil.
