Married Nov 14 1904 Valley Co., NE --------------------------------------------- Life-Long Resident of Valley County Anna E. Vodehnal Dies at Age 88 Years Anna E. Vodehnal, 88, a resident of Valley County all her life, died Feb. 25 at the Valley County Hospital. Mrs. Vodehnal was born Feb. 10, 1883 in Valley County, the daughter of Joseph and Magdelena Bedilivy Skolil. On Nov. 14, 1904 she was united in marriage to John W. Vodehnal. The couple farmed near the Jungman Hall community until March of 1920 when they moved to a farm two miles northeast of Ord. This was their home until the death of her husband, Jan. 25, 1946, and she remained living with her son, Edward until 1955. Mrs. Vodehnal then retired and moved to Ord. For the past two years she has been with her daughters, Mildred Ellis of Sidney and Mary Simoens of Fort Collins, Colo. She was preceded in death by her husband, son Alvin, her parents, and three brothers Frank Skolil and Jim Skolil of Comstock and Edward Skolil of San Pedro, Calif. Survivors include a son Edward of Ord, daughters Mrs. Charley (Rose) Visek of Comstock, Mrs. Harley (Mildred) Ellis of Sidney and Mrs. Francis (Mary) Simoens of Fort Collins, Colo.; five grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Also two brothers, Emil Skolil of North Loup, Joe Skolil of Ord, and sister Mary Novotny of Tulsa, Okla., and many relatives and friends. Funeral services were held at 2 pm Monday in the Ord Presbyterian Church. Burial was in the Ord Cemetery. The Ord Quiz - Thurs, Mar 4 1971, Pg 6, Col 1, 2
