Louis Peter Kush, 83, of North Loup, Nebraska, formerly of Monroe, Nebraska, died Wednesday, January 25 in North Loup. The visitation will be Sunday, Jan. 29 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Genoa, Nebraska, from 3:00 – 5:00 P.M. with a Rosary service at 5:00 P.M. A memorial service will be held Monday, Jan. 30 at 10:30 A.M. at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church with Father Bill L’Heureux celebrating the Mass. Military honors will be conducted by the Genoa American Legion, Edward H. Larson Post 144 Honor Guard. A lunch will follow the service. A private burial will be held at a later date. Memorials suggested in lieu of flowers to St. Rose of Lima Church, 116 N. Elm St., Genoa, NE 68640 or Krakow Catholic Church, 52121 S. 380th Ave., Genoa, NE 68640. Lou was born on June 29, 1933, to John and Mary (Czarnick) Kush. Lou lived most of his life in Monroe. He attended Genoa High School. Afterwards he enlisted in the US Army specializing in Morse code. He married Dorothy Kresha on May 11, 1957. He was a wonderful father who worked most of his life as an electrician and in the irrigation industry, and with his sons started Kush Bros. Construction. Lou was a talented musician who especially enjoyed Polka music and Johnny Cash. He also loved to spend time fishing, boating, watching sports, cooking, horse racing and playing cards with his family.
