Thanks to contributor #47466150 Grand Island (Nebraska) Independent November 1997 GENOA - Mary K. Kush, 88, of Genoa died Sunday, Nov 16, 1997, at the Nebraska Veterans Home. Services were on Wednesday at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Krakow. The Rev. Robert Nienaber officiated. Burial was in the church cemetery. Hasch-Patrick Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements. Mrs. Kush was born on Nov. 12, 1909, at rural Genoa to Jacob and Mary Ann (Dziurawiec) Czarnick. She married John Kush in 1931. The couple lived on the family farm near Genoa throughout their marriage. She was a homemaker. Mr. Kush died in 1965. Mrs. Kush was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church and its rosary sodality. Survivors include four sons, Louis of Monroe, Al of Gibbon and Leonard and Ray, both of Genoa; two daughters, Rita Tate of Genoa and Betty Zakrzewski of Columbus; 34 grandchildren; 57 great-grandchildren; one great great grandchild; and four sisters, Julia Cyza and Frances Urkoski, both of Columbus, Anna Urkoski of Genoa and Berniece Urkoski of Silver Creek. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by two sons, Bernard and Edward; and three brothers, Louis, John and Frank.
