Charles William Christiansen Charles Christiansen passed away at home on December 28, 2016. He was born in Pleasant Grove, Utah on August 27, 1924. He was the fourth of eight children born to Owen and Priscilla Stagg Christiansen. He married Gloria M. Maynard on August 9, 1943 while home on his first leave from the U.S. Navy. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. At the end of WWII, he was honorably discharged from the Navy as an Aviation Electricians Mate, second class. Shortly after his discharge, he obtained his private pilot's license. Charles was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served in many church callings; serving many years with the young men and Scouting. He and his wife were temple workers at the Ogden Temple for a time. He loved camping, and with his wife enjoyed many outings with friends and family. He leaves a posterity of 3 sons; Barry Christiansen, Clayton (Debbie) Christiansen, and Kendall Christiansen; a daughter, Diane (Nolan) Birt; 16 grandchildren; and 31 great-grandchildren. He is survived by his brother, Lyle (Gayle) Christiansen; sisters-in-law; Betty Christiansen and Ruth Christiansen; and his brother-in-law, Dale Huntsman. He is happily reunited with his wife and eternal companion, Gloria. He is preceded in death by his parents, sisters; Reva Warburton, Bernice Rasmussen, and Karma Huntsman; his brothers; Marlin, Cloyd, and Kay Christiansen; and one granddaughter, Julie Christiansen. Services will be held at noon on Friday, January 6, 2017, at Sullivan Hollow 1st Ward, 976 33rd Street, Ogden. A viewing will be held prior to services from 10:30 to 11:40 a.m. at the church.
