Bio
Son of Mike V. & Helen E. (Szwanek) Graus. Henry attended school in Howard County, graduated from Elba High School, and also graduated from the St. Paul Business College. On December 27, 1941 Henry married Clara E. Joynt in Lawton, Oklahoma. Henry entered the U.S. Army on October 21, 1941 and attained the rank of Tech 4 and served in WWII. He was Honorably Discharged on September 26, 1945. Henry worked for the U.S. Post Office and retired in 1980. Henry was active with the Boy Scouts for many years. He enjoyed communicating with family and friends via the internet and using e-mail. Henry liked to travel and visit new places and spent a lot of time as an organic gardener. Henry enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was a member of the American Legion, the 645th Tank Destroyer and 189th Field Artillery Associations, the Rural Carriers Association, and NARFE. Henry was a member of the First United Methodist Church. Henry is survived by: Son - Ron (Pat) Graus of Columbus, NE Son - Roger (Sue) Graus of Independence, Mo.
