Bio

Daughter of William & Mildred (Ratcliff) Joynt. She graduated from St. Paul High School and attended the University of Nebraska for one year. She taught school in rural Howard County, Nebraska for four years. She then went to work at the Grand Island, Nebraska Ammunition Depot for two years. She married Henry Graus on December 27, 1941 in Lawton, Oklahoma. Raising nine children was Clara's main occupation. She enjoyed making candles, knitting, sewing, baking, doing crafts, making string and wire art projects, flower gardening and helping her children when they were small with their paper routes. She was a self taught piano player and played for the residents of Beverly Healthcare. She was a member of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees, the American Legion Auxiliary and the United Methodist Church.
