Doyle Sumrall and Rev. C.V. Roberts officiating. Burial will be in Forest Park Cemetery under direction of Coker-Mathews-Peters Funeral Home. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Mrs. Pennington died at 7 a.m. Saturday in a Greenville hospital. She lived at 3500 Park St. and was formerly a longtime resident of 4115 Pine St. She was born on Nov. 4, 1890 in Arkansas, the daughter of John and Parlee Matlock Hughes, and was married to T.D. Pennington in Arkansas. She was a member of Lamar Baptist Church. Surviving are four sons, Lester H. and Claude Pennington, both of Greenville, C.E. (Pete) Pennington of Dallas and Jimmy Pennington of Denver, Colo.; three daughters, Mrs. Carlee Wells of Santa Anna, Calif., Mrs. Myrtie Morgan of Greenville and Mrs. Lareda Voss of Mesquite; 21 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband on Feb. 14, 1954, a son, Russell; a daughter, Mrs. Melvia Caldwell; her parents, three brothers and two sisters.
