Marjorie's obituary was added to her memorial on 7-26-2023. ---Judy Johnson ---------------------------- Marjorie Jean Meredith, age 89 of Union died December 11, 2016 at Tabitha Care Center in Lincoln. Marjorie was born June 23, 1927 in Ogallala, the daughter of Lloyd and Essie A. (Buttery) Younker. She married Donald "Curly" Joy Meredith January 25, 1945 in Hiawatha, KS and lived in the Union area most of her life. Donald died October 21, 1990. Marjorie owned and operated Marge's Beauty Shop in Union for 46 years before retiring in 2008. Survivors include her son, Alan "Butch" Meredith and wife Carol; daughters, Idona Plybon and husband Wayne; Meri Meredith, all of Union; seven grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; twin sister, Margaret Poulos of Agua Dulce, CA; sister in law, Bonnie Younker of Noel, MO; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Gary; sister, Marilyn; brothers, Pete, Don, Howard "Fat", Ralph, Roger and Ted. Funeral Services were held at 11:00 A.M., Thursdya, December 15, 2016 at Marshall Funeral Chapel in Nebraska City with burial in the East Union Cemetery near Union. Visitations were from 1:00 to 8:00 P.M., Wednesday at Marshall Funeral Chapel in Nebraska City with the family greeting friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M.
