The Daily Inter Lake Thursday, October 7, 1954 page two REV. L. G. NEES DIES AT AGE 75 The Rev. Lawrence Gifford Nees, 75, died yesterday at his home in the Greenacres district. The Rev. Nees first came to Kalispell in 1935. He served here as pastor of the Church of The Nazarene until 1942. After leaving here he served at Helena and in Utah and returned to Kalispell six years ago to retire. He had been in poor health for some time. The Rev. Nees is survived by his wife, Emma Myrtle Nees, at home; 10 children, Mrs. Lois Murphee, who is doing mission work in South Africa; Mrs. Grace Powell, Kalispell; Stanley Nees, Poplar; Mrs. Elva Larsen, Minneapolis, Minn.; Harold Nees, Poplar; Mrs. Corlea Marshall, Kalispell; Mrs. LaVerne Klein, Dallas, Tex.; L. Guy Nees, Kankakee, Ill.; Mrs. Mildred Sutherland of San Francisco; and Mrs. Dorothy Dennis of Roswell, New Mexico. There are also 28 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and several brothers and sisters. Funeral services will be tomorrow at 2 p.m. at the Waggener & Campbell Chapel. The Rev. W. D. Adams of the Church of the Nazarene will conduct the service, assisted by the Rev. L. W. Quay, district superintendent. Burial will be in Conrad Memorial Cemetery.
