Bio

Peter was the first born child of Jacob Studebaker. He shortened his name as his father did, thus the S. He married Polly Mary Rhoads 12/7/1815 and they settled down to farm the NW section of Jacob's large land holdings. Unfortunately, about the same time their son Peter is born, Peter Sr. is killed in a farm accident. Thus his grandmother, Mary Miller Studebaker, who had recently moved from MD to KY, comes to help the young mother and child.
