ATHENS - Services for Dixie Mae Wheeler, 89, Athens, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday at Cooper Funeral Home, Athens. Burial will be in Payne Cemetery. Mrs. Wheeler died Jan. 1, 2007, in Athens. She was born March 29, 1917, in Pearl to William and Gertrude Oney Keeton. She moved to Henderson County and attended schools in the Stockard community. She was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church, Eustace. She was preceded in death by husband, Lois Wheeler; daughters, Raycine Wheeler, Phyllis Wheeler; brothers, Lloyd Keeton, Joe Bailey Keeton; and grandsons, Joe David Wheeler and Billy Ray Ford. Survivors include daughters, Barbara Cannon, Athens, and Linda Ford, Seminole; sons, Joe Wheeler, Tyler, and J.W. Wheeler, Malakoff; sister, Dorothy White, Cement, Okla.; brothers, Noah Keeton, Angleton, and W.R. Keeton, Spokane, Wash.; and one niece. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
