Andrea Nekuza Diehl passed away on October 17, 2016, to be with our Lord. She was born in Ennis, Texas on May 1, 1960 to Anton and Agnes (Taraba) Nekuza. She graduated from Ennis High School and attended Sam Houston State University. There she met Jeff Diehl in 1980; they were married in 1984 and began a wonderful life together. They made their home in Highlands, California, where she and her husband started a business, Nitro2go, working everyday side by side. They were each other’s best friend, confidant, and shared an enduring love that would last for a lifetime. Andrea loved traveling, especially to the mountains where she could appreciate moose (her favorite) and all the wild life. She adored the outdoors, tending to her flowers and religiously filling her 4 hummingbird feeders every day and watch as flights of hummers came to drink them dry. Her fury babies, each preceding the next, were Fuzz the cat and her precious German Shepards: Kemo, Little Kemo, Little Bit, Shadow and the surviving Padawan. Andrea was the kindest, most caring person you could ever know. She opened her heart to all she met; a smile to a stranger, money to a homeless person and various charities she was passionate about. She is survived by her husband, Jeff Diehl; her brother, Dennis Nekuza and wife Vickie; two nieces: Ashlee Nekuza Smith and husband, Hunter and their daughter Allie; and Kristin Nekuza Vavra and husband Matthew. She is preceded in death by her mother, Agnes; dad, Anton; and her two sisters: Lorraine Nekuza Wade and Diane Nekuza Smith. Visitation will be on Wednesday, October 26th, 2016 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. with rosary at 7pm at J.E. Keever Mortuary Chapel in Ennis. Mass of the Christian burial will be on Thursday, October 27th, 2016 at 10 a.m. at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church of Ennis. Interment will follow in the St. Joseph Cemetery of Ennis under the direction of J. E. Keever Mortuary, Inc.
