Agnes Nekuza, 88, passed away in California on Tuesday, November 11, 2014. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, November 18, 2014, with Rosary at 7 p.m., in the J.E. Keever Mortuary Chapel of Ennis. Mass of the Christian burial will be at 10 a.m., Wednesday, November 19, 2014, in the St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church of Ennis. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery of Ennis under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary, Inc. Agnes was born in Telico, Texas, to the late Frank Jo and Mary Elenanor (Spaniel) Taraba. She went to school in Telico and graduated from St. John High School. On January 23, 1954, Agnes married Anton H. Nekuza and they made their home in Ennis. She worked for Ennis Business Forms until her retirement. Agnes was a member of the St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church of Ennis. She loved to read and enjoyed shopping and gardening. She was preceded in death by her husband, Anton Nekuza, on March 6, 2005; daughters, Lorraine Nekuza Wade and Diane Nekuza Smith; and a brother, George Taraba. Survivors include her son, Dennis Nekuza and his wife, Vickie; daughter, Andrea Diehl and her husband, Jeff; granddaughters, Ashlee Smith and her husband, Hunter, and Kristin Vavra and her husband, Matthew; great-granddaughter, Alexandra Smith; sister, Marie Hejny and her husband, Bill; brother, Frank Taraba; other relatives and many friends.
