Bio

Born in Bruno, Nebraska, and later moved to Grand Island where he graduated from Grand Island Senior High School. Joined the U.S. Army Signal Corps and served three years, mostly in New Guinea. Returned to Grand Island. Married Elsie Sisel on Sept. 30, 1947. Worked for John Claussen and Sons Construction for more than 40 years. Volunteered at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center and member of the American Legion, VFW and St. Mary's Cathedral. Survived by his wife, Elsie, a daughter, Karen (Mrs. Allan) Vieth; son David Stava; and two sisters, Adeline Zetocha of Danver and Rose Hamata of Schuyler. Preceded in death by an infant son, Larry, and a brother, Theodore.
