Bio

Mary C. Proskovec, 86, of David City, died Thursday, March 28, 2013, at the Waterford at Wilderness Hills in Lincoln. She was born September 1, 1926, near Brainard, Neb. to Joseph and Kristina (Hromas) Jakub. She attended rural schools. On October 1, 1946, she married Ellis J. Proskovec in Brainard. They farmed for 50 years and retired to David City in 1996. Mary was a homemaker and wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Bruno and the Altar Society, St. Mary's Catholic Church in David City, the PCCW and Catholic Daughters of the Americas. Mary is survived by her daughter, Marilyn (Gary) Aerts of Malcolm, Neb.; son, Gary (Linda) Proskovec of Lincoln; 10 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Ellis in 2010, six sisters and six brothers.
