Bio

Ellis Proskovec, 85, of David City, passed away peacefully St. Joseph's Villa on Monday, September 20, 2010, surrounded by family. Ellis was born on the family farm in Bruno on June 25, 1925 to Joseph and Anna (Stara) Proskovec. He was united in marriage with Mary Jakub on October 1, 1946 and farmed for 50 years until he retired in 1996. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was a 50 year member of Knights of Columbus Council # 1717 and Saint Anthony's Catholic Church, Bruno and St. Mary's Catholic Church of David City.. Ellis is survived by his wife of 63 years, Mary; daughter Marilyn (Gary) Aerts of Malcolm, Nebraska; son Gary E. (Linda) of Lincoln, Nebraska; 10 grandchildren; 9 great- grandchildren; brother Joseph E. (Arlean) of David City, Nebraska and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters Dorothy and Martha and brother-in-law Henry Bruner. His Funeral was at St. Mary's Catholic Church in David City, NE
