A graveside service for Evalyn I. Garris, 68, of Scotsbluff, Nebraska, who died April 6, 1990, at her home, were held April 10, 1990 at 2 p.m. in Sunset Memorial Park at Scottsbluff with the Rev. Fred Anderson officiating. Memorials have been established to Home Health Care and the Regional West Medical Center Hospice Services. Evalyn I. Garris was born Feb. 5, 1922, at Comstock, to John and Bessie (Brumbaugh) Amos. She grew up and received her education at Comstock graduating from high school. She married Maurice Garris June 14, 1940, at Taylor. She moved to Scottsbluff in 1954 where she worked at the Sew and Sew Fabric Shop as a clerk until going to work for the Gerry Division where she worked as a clothing inspector. She retired in 1985. She was a member of the First Methodist Church at Scottsbluff. Survivors include her husband; son, Craig of Jefferson, Ore.; brothers John Amos of Scottsbluff, Maynard Amos and Melford Amos, both of Camas Valley, Ore., Pat Amos of Bandon, Ore., Karl Amos of Westwood, Calif., Kalso Amos of Comstock, and Virgil Amos of Fellon, Nev.; sisters Sarah Housted of Falls City, Ore., Becky Marsh of Comstock, Midge Nelson of Gering, Bonnie Henten of Elkhorn and Arvilla Amos of Carter Lake, Iowa; and three grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers and one infant daughter. Sargent Leader: April 19, 1990 Page 3
